Reason #3:
We're with you for the long haul It's our aim to make these
Post-Dispatch Web sites the only logistical, scheduling
and publicity tool most community groups will ever need
- so that Web work will no longer be an "add on" to an
already busy workload but a replacement for
it.
| |
|
We're going to reach that
goal by regularly surveying our Web site administrators
to identify the main stumbling blocks and time-wasters
keeping them from doing what their organizations were
created to do. Then we'll set to work finding ways to
sand down those blocks and win back that lost time using
our Web sites. What we can't solve ourselves, we'll take
to Koz, the company that developed these tools, with
whom we have an excellent relationship.

Reason #4:
To be part of a stronger St. LouisNo matter how wonderful your
current Web site is, there's one final thing you can't
be part of without joining us. For our aims don't stop
at making great Web sites. We want to create a great
network: one that connects St. Louisans to our
newsroom, links towns too long separated and individuals
who run with too different crowds, allows groups that
are too busy to hold a meeting to collaborate with one
another online ... in short, a network that sands down
not only the obstacles to our private goals, but those
that limit our shared, public life as well.

|
We're experimenting, for
instance, with Web tools that will help groups find
their natural allies, network more easily and hammer out
decisions and common action plans. But in this area,
we're limited less by technology than by imagination,
and by the fact that, though we may all soon be wired,
we haven't figured out a smart way to be wired together.
We intend to build one, with the help of groups like
yours. | |
